I have to admit I love to watch people...mostly interactions. I may ease drop on a conversation from time to time.. For example;yesterday in Kohls.I hate to shop for clothes. I love running to the shortest register line and getting out.My daughter is not a happy camper. She loves clothes as do most teens.I was alone yesterday, buying pajamas. While waiting to cash out I noticed the older gentlemen in front of me engaging this young [20ish}cashier into a conversation. As he noticed I was there he glanced over and said hello..to which I responded. This was my ticket into this conversation. He went on to tell us how many daughters he has..3.Shared that he is the oldest and always protected his sisters. He talked about loving and protecting your daughters, mother and sisters. I was in awe of this gentlemen. Normally I would be wishing they would hurry along so I might quickly leave the store.Seriously..the 10 and under lines were invented for people like me.I know at least 10-15 minutes went by.I just stood there and enjoyed who this man was..a true gentlemen, lonely and caring and full of character.I noticed the young cashier became a bit uncomfortable and wanted to now hurry him along. She shared quickly..she has twin daughters and her protection for them was "gonna be rifle and a 22..sittin with her on a porch on the back of a hundred acres. She then asked"how old are you , mister" To which he replied..I was born in 1928.You do the math young lady, She boldly answered"I aint good at math"I seriously could not stop laughing...I could hardly stand up to pay. I did not want to laugh, but was overwhelmed. I felt like I was dropped smack dab in the middle of a redneck joke.I love the south and my family lives in the Bible belt.I went from and awe moment to a dah moment ...Guess I needed a laugh. Bless her heart. I pray she meets many men like this a gentlemen

INVISIBLE????
Invisible MotherIt all began
to make sense, the blank stares, the lack of response, the
way
one of the kids will walk into the room while I'm on the
phone and ask to be
taken to the store.Inside I'm
thinking, 'Can't you see I'm on the phone?'Obviously,
not.No one can see if I'm on the phone, or cooking, or
sweeping the floor, or
even standing on my head in the corner,
because no one can see me at all.I'm invisible. The
invisible Mom. Some days I am only a pair of hands,
nothing
more: Can you fix this? Can you tie this? Can you open
this?Some days I'm not a pair of hands; I'm not even a
human being. I'm a clock
to ask, 'What time is it?' I'm a
satellite guide to answer, 'What number is
the Disney Channel?'
I'm a car to order, 'Right around 5:30, please.'I was
certain that these were the hands that once held books and the
eyes
that studied history and the mind that graduated sum a cum
laude - but now
they had disappeared into the peanut butter,
never to be seen again. She's
going; she's going; she is
gone! One night, a group of us were having dinner,
celebrating the return of a
friend from England. Janice
had just gotten back from a fabulous trip, and
she was going on
and on about the hotel she stayed in.I was sitting there,
looking around at the others all put together so well.
It was
hard not to compare and feel sorry for myself. I was feeling
pretty
pathetic, when Janice turned to me with a beautifully
wrapped package, and
said, 'I brought you this.'It was
a book on the great cathedrals of Europe .I wasn't exactly
sure why she'd given it to me until I read her
inscription:'To Charlotte, with admiration for the
greatness of what you are building
when no one
sees.'In the days ahead I would read - no, devour -
the book. And I would discover
what would become for me, four
life-changing truths, after which I could
pattern my
work:No one can say who built the great cathedrals - we
have no record of their
names.These builders gave their
whole lives for a work they would never
see
finished. They made great sacrifices and expected no
credit. The passion of their building was fueled by their
faith that the eyes of God
saw everything.A legendary
story in the book told of a rich man who came to visit
the
cathedral while it was being built, and he saw a workman
carving a tiny bird
on the inside of a beam. He was puzzled and
asked the man, 'Why are you
spending so much time carving that
bird into a beam that will be covered by
the roof? No one will
ever see it.' And the workman replied, 'Because
God
sees.'I closed the book, feeling the missing piece
fall into place. It was almost as if I heard God whispering
to me, 'I see you, Charlotte. I
see the sacrifices you make
every day, even when no one around you does. No
act of kindness
you've done, no sequin you've sewn on, no cupcake you've
baked,
is too small for me to notice and smile over. You are building
a
great cathedral, but you can't see right now what it will
become.'At times, my invisibility feels like an
affliction. But it is not a disease
that is erasing my life.
It is the cure for the disease of my
own
self-centeredness. It is the antidote to my strong,
stubborn pride.I keep the right perspective when I see
myself as a great builder. As one of
the people who show up at
a job that they will never see finished, to work
on something
that their name will never be on.The writer of the book
went so far as to say that no cathedrals could ever
be built in
our lifetime because there are so few people willing
to
sacrifice to that degreeAs mothers, we are building great
cathedrals. We cannot be seen if we're
doing it
right. And one day, it is very possible that the world will
marvel, not only at
what we have built, but at the beauty that
has been added to the world by
the sacrifices of invisible
women. -
Like living in limbo...
We are stuck in the twilight zone. We sold our house and applied for a lower mortgage amount. Guess what...our old mortgage and paid off car are still on our credit showing up as loans. We provided proof...but with the banks struggling like they are it was not good enough. They want to see it on the credit reports. So we are stuck living in someone elses house. Our friends are trying to sell this home. It is high priced and big. We are living in a staged house. They paid someone to stage the house. Which by the way is a booming business. Decorator wanna bees and professionals alike are making big bucks staging homes. The house has a small number of furnishings that look pristine and unique. We keep the house spotless and hardly nothing in here is ours. It is like living in a hotel without the room service. Not a home at all....really.
I miss my stuff and my house. All is on hold for awhile. Prayers appreciated! -
sold our house and on the move...
we sold our house and moved out all within 3 weeks.
Which is a miracle in this economy and housing market. No computer yet, living in a friends house .
We will be looking until we find a good buy !!
hope everyone is well.

sable, black and white and bright yellow all over??
My lovely , well behaved shelties found a highlight marker. Yes , while I was gone they painted themselves bright yellow. anyone know how to get marker off dog fur? So I started to discuss how disappointed I was in their behavior. Kinda scolding them ...but gently. Being the dog lover that I am. When my 13 year old walks over and sarcastically reminds me ;"Mom, you do realize they do not understand a word you are saying?" As she walked away I heard her mumble these words-"looks like the old folks home may come sooner than we all thought" The tone of her voice was hilarious. I love when we can find laughter in situations that would normally frustrate the tar out of us. so , here they are ...all pretty.
They both looked ashamed....lol

This is a picture of my daughter April with my granddaughter Aurelina. I think a picture is worth a thousand words...when looking through a few tonight I came across these two. Many of you read my daughter Tanyas xanga site. This is her sister April...sure looks like she loves them tons! I love my girls. Family is so important and when I see them still being there for each other as adults it makes me very proud. April stayed at the hospital all night when Tanya delivered Sebastian..it was a long night!

Picnic ...baptism
Our church picnic went very well. Everyone seemed to have a good time. We roasted marshmallows and pitched horseshoes. All the young and a few old enjoyed the trampoline.I think the beautiful skyline God provided was the most awesome picture of the night. For me The conversation around the fire pit was the most enjoyable time.

Our church is a convergence of three. The evangelical , charasmatic and sacramental. Therefore we have several different denominational backgrounds. We come from Southern Baptist roots. We are struggling with a few points in the CEC'S theology. Our daughter is almost 14 and was dedicated at a young age and prayed to receive her salvation at the age of about 5. Some would call this a sinners prayer. I simply think of it as when we stop running and accept our wonderful and free gift of salvation. Here is the problem. In our church you may not receive the Communion unless you are baptized. They fully push baby baptism Our daughter is ready to receive a "believers " baptism which would include an immersion baptismal ceremony. Our Priest will only do a "sprinkling" type of baptism. Saying sometime next year we "may ' be able to have an immersion baptismal ceremony and she could be immersed at that time. Being 14 and growing up with a desire to be immersed...believing that is the "way" to do it. She is refusing. Therefore come sunday...she will be refused communion . which we have every week. Which means as a family we will stand with her. This is painful to her and she is hurt and whole heartily believes Jesus would never turn her away and that she is not unworthy. Please pray this does not push any of us away while it is worked out.

Horseshoe pit
My husband is in the middle of yet another project. He is a real go getter, never stops. He makes up things to do and never sits still. Some of his energy today is focused on building the perfect horseshoe pit. This was after mowing our lawn..about an acre. With a push mower.Washing the vehicles. Fixing the in-house vacuum cleaner. He even cooked veggies on the grill for my eggplant rigatoni pasta dish.Still bursting with energy;he is focused in on his goal...to build a horsshoe pit.I am always amazed and blessed by his energy.I just noticed him walking by with a sledge hammer and wood...time to get my camera out...there he goes. First he asked me to check if they lined up with the house. He knows I am a little OCD and if they were crooked it would drive me crazy.
As you can see Cody and Abbey are always happy to help. They love to be outside. We are having a large group over for a picnic next weeknd, I have a feeling the guys will be playing horseshoes. Actually our whole congregation is invited ;we are hosting one of our church wide picnics.Just a typical saturday around here. I am blessed!

Summer camp and butt biting....
My Britt is off to a summer camp. It is a stifling 79 here today...stop laughing tanya1968. For new yorkers thats hot.Today I decided to buy her some type of sports drink. I was worried she may get dehydrated ...again I hear my southern friends laughing. The laughter sounds identical to one that has leapt from my mouth when my floridian mom tells me she is cold when it hits 50 degrees.Anyway, back to the sportsdrinks. What a bussiness..I want a share $3.99 for only 4 small bottles of sugar water with some electrolytes(tons of sodium) thrown in for good measure. A multimillion dollar business. I looked up the benefits of these "re-energizing;revitalizing,refreshing"drinks. The sound of money going down the drain motivated my research.Seems I just wasted 3.99. Water will hydrate just as well unless you are a seriuos athlete. The commercials target everyone, but from my research water will do just fine.Next time it's from the tap...if she complains I'll toss in a little salt, sugar and food coloring and call it a redneck sports drink.
Now onto the butt biting...no ,my daughter is not biting anything or anyone at summer camp. It is my much loved shelties. Cody and Abbey have suddenly started nibbling on the bottoms of my family and guest .I should elaborate a little. They jump up in the air with excitement and quickly and gently grab a little nibble, while fo
here are the quotes..if your up for a laugh you have to watch this one!
Marty: "Excuse me, you're biting my butt."
Marty: "What the heck is wrong with you? Why'd you bite me?"
Maurice: "Man, it's because you are his dinner."
Melman: "What?"
Gloria: "Excuse me?"
Melman: "That's dumb."
Julien: "Come, come, Maurice. What is a simple bite on the buttocks among friends? Here, give me a nibble
