  • embodiment...more than wwjd

The embodiment of Christ...what does that mean to us? any thoughts?Last night a group discussion about embodiment took my mind down many paths... embodiment carries an active sense.

The action is what resonates with me.

It is not active in the sense of trying to accomplish something, but rather; active because it's alive.

It brings with it an intention to our daily routines. share your thoughts...

  • that's what the incarnation is all about; to make "flesh" or be in-the-flesh. The great 13th c. German Christian mystic Meister Eckhart said it best (I am paraphrasing): "What good is it to me if Jesus was born in a manger [2000] years ago? Jesus is always needing to be born; in our time, in our place. We are all called to be the mothers of God." Here is another of Eckhart's quotes which, for me, gets to the heart of your question. "If I am to know God in such an unmediated way, then I must simply become God and God must become me... so completely one that this 'he' and this 'I' share one 'is' and in this 'isness' do our work eternally."

  • BTW... glad to see you back online
