  • Two kinds of Christians.
which one can you indentify with....
“Sink Christians” view salvation like they would a sink. The water of salvation flows into the sink so that Christians can soak up all of  the benefits: eternal life, assurance in the present, strength in our times of trial. Those who adopt this mindset concentrate solely on what the Bible says God has done and will do for them.
"Faucet Christians” view salvation differently. They look at the world as the sink and themselves as the faucet. The blessings of salvation flow to them in order to flow through them out to the wider world. They rightly see that the Bible describes salvation as something that God not only does for them, but also through them.

  • I actually don't think there is an "either/or" here.  I tend to fall into both categories at different times.  Maybe, instead of choosing one, we should be concerned with a balance between the two?

  • @kharahlyn - we need a constant in flowing..especially if we are being emptied out, I think we also need to strive daily to be the faucet. If we only want to recieve I think we can miss the bigger picture.makes me think.

  • @snuggssM - But sometimes we need the blessings personally just as much as we need to bless others.  We are called to live life "abundantly" and sometimes need help to do so.
