People watching....
I have to admit I love to watch people...mostly interactions. I may ease drop on a conversation from time to time.. For example;yesterday in Kohls.I hate to shop for clothes. I love running to the shortest register line and getting out.My daughter is not a happy camper. She loves clothes as do most teens.I was alone yesterday, buying pajamas. While waiting to cash out I noticed the older gentlemen in front of me engaging this young [20ish}cashier into a conversation. As he noticed I was there he glanced over and said hello..to which I responded. This was my ticket into this conversation. He went on to tell us how many daughters he has..3.Shared that he is the oldest and always protected his sisters. He talked about loving and protecting your daughters, mother and sisters. I was in awe of this gentlemen. Normally I would be wishing they would hurry along so I might quickly leave the store.Seriously..the 10 and under lines were invented for people like me.I know at least 10-15 minutes went by.I just stood there and enjoyed who this man was..a true gentlemen, lonely and caring and full of character.I noticed the young cashier became a bit uncomfortable and wanted to now hurry him along. She shared quickly..she has twin daughters and her protection for them was "gonna be rifle and a 22..sittin with her on a porch on the back of a hundred acres. She then asked"how old are you , mister" To which he replied..I was born in 1928.You do the math young lady, She boldly answered"I aint good at math"I seriously could not stop laughing...I could hardly stand up to pay. I did not want to laugh, but was overwhelmed. I felt like I was dropped smack dab in the middle of a redneck joke.I love the south and my family lives in the Bible belt.I went from and awe moment to a dah moment ...Guess I needed a laugh. Bless her heart. I pray she meets many men like this a gentlemen
