Spring cleaning...
My lovely Nana ... I adore you!
Spring Cleaning...where's my teenager? If your teen is ever getting on your nerves..which mine of course never does. Just utter the simple phrase.."I think it's time to start our spring cleaning" I swear I heard her say "beam me up scotty" as she disappeared. Out of sight , like a speeding bullet she was gone. Is she turning into a super hero..has she watched too many captain kirk reruns..no she simply hates to clean and is a bit lazy. I on the other hand; I love spring cleaning. I know it's weird. But it is part of who I am. My grandmother always changed her curtains and cleaned every window and aired out the house. It smelled of pine cleaner and fresh linen. This has been passed down to me..kind of a generational thing. Of course my children think of it more like a generational curse and have probably spent time praying for it to be lifted and not passed on to them.
My Nana is very ill, she is getting close to her time to leave this earth and go home to be with the Lord. This has caused me to think over and remember all the little things she has passed on to me that make me who I am. Spring cleaning makes the list. Along with loving the old church hymns and making spaghetti sauce that cooks all day.Yesterday I added to my mental list- german bologna. I was at the deli counter and as I looked at the selection I noticed german bologna. This brought me back to days when I was a young teen . My grandmother would always buy me a pickle from a large barrel at the deli as she ordered german bologna. She would go on to tell the guy at the counter how wonderful german bologna tasted in comparison to the prepackaged stuff. If ya ever have a spare penny and want to forego the oscar meyer or store brand I highly suggest the deli sliced german bologna. As the deli clerk came to me I said "In honor of my Nana I would like a pound of german bologna" I then urged him to give it a try sometime.I am glad I have all these little things given to me from my Nana .Many of them are deeper and more thought provoking than bologna..but I just thought I would take a sec. and share a few with yall. Everyone have a wonderful weekend...I'll end this blog the way my Nana signed every birthday card and every letter I ever received from her.."god loves you" and I do too. If I had a penny for every time she wrote that to me I'd be rich..what am I saying; because of her I am rich!

I will try that sounds good.God bless and thanks so much.Love your layout.
hows great nana???
@teano307 - not well...she has been given very little time.
hi... i like the new background! ryc: thanks for the suggestions. i actually do love the idea of having a tea party! the only problem we have is a small condo with no room for the many people we would have over for the party. =( sad but true. a tea party at the park just doesn't sound as nice to me either... but it's a great idea. one i will think on further & see what i can come up with, if not for this year, then definately for one in the future!
great hugs for you. grandparents & great-grandparents are so special. i wish i could see mine more often.
I love the new background. Very nice. I am sorry to hear that your Nana isn't well. That is rough.
And I know just what you mean about your daughter disappearing when it's time to clean. I have the same problem here.
God bless your Nana! She sounds like one very special lady. I'm sorry to hear that she is not doing well.
Blessings to you & your Nana
Spring cleaning, huh? I think I would hide with Britt. LOL
I'm so sorry to hear that your Nana isn't doing well. I can't count how many times you've spoken of her since I started coming around... it's obvious that she is a very special person and one that means so much to you. I hope she is at peace and comfortable. And you are both in my thoughts.
